Okay so this is a pretty basic painting tutorial covering the way I tend to do things. I've probably missed a lot of little things, so feel free to ask questions if you have them.

This is sort of focused toward Photoshop, since that's what I use for all my paintings, but I'm pretty sure you can do a good bit of this with most digital art programs.

I've been meaning to make one of these for ages but I never remember to save all the stages of my paintings, so since I finally did, Squirtle will be our guide. :U

I usually only use two brushes: One of them is a default brush found in Photoshop CS3, I believe it's called "Airbrush Pen Opacity Flow" or something silly like that. Either way it's a basic round brush which changes opacity with tablet pen pressure.

The second is a square brush I got from the wonderful ~Bluefley, which he has uploaded here: [link]
It's basically the same as the first one, just square in shape, and it tends to produce sharper lines than the default round brush.
