Hating others is wrong, I feel. But having to agree with other people's desires is also wrong, in my opinion. You've got a great skill here, and you're passing the message that is the reason for your drawing of this, so... 'eh, well, that's my two-cents on it. "No hating" is fine. *nod* "No hating, and you must support us regardless" is a different matter.

I don't think its so much agreeing with the desires, as agreeing with someone's right to express them.

As long as something is done between two consenting adults and doesn't harm another living person, then no matter how much someone may not agree with it, they should never support them being 'banned' from doing it.
I don't have a problem if someone doesn't 'approve' of being gay (though I always find it odd how someone can disapprove of the way someone else is born!) but they shouldn't try and force their opinions on everyone else by attempting to ban certain things, just because they personally don't agree with it.

No one is saying they have to agree. but that doesnt mean people like me should be discriminated against. The protest isnt forcing people to do anything. I feel you dont have to like me but at least respect me or treat me fairly. Dont deny me a right and sweep me under a rug, A 'silent' protest such as this doesnt infringe on anyone rights. Its a way to show people support gays and that we should be treated fairly. Here in my state there was a huge discussion to give us gays basic rights such as our names on teh equal opportunity housing act or what ever its called up until february 09 I could have been fired on the grounds of being gay or evicted from an appartment for it. All we want is to be treated equal, you dont really have to like us, but at least accept us like we do for you. (Not ment for the previous poster in specific just who ever is reading this.)

Ah, see, you have a point that actually hits me in this day and age, with prayer being taken out of school. >.o I got I think two years of that before it was taken out, and... yeesh, I didn't have a problem with it at that age. Wouldn't have one now, even in college.

Even so, expressing one's personal views still shouldn't be one-sided. With all I'm seeing, those who desire same-sex relations are trying to be expressive while trying to smother the same kind of thing on people with Christian beliefs, like myself. I've had a number of people tell me things like "Don't judge me!" Odd thing is that I'm not judging at all, and yet I'm attacked more often than not. x.x

But I didn't make any comments here to try to attack anyone. In fact, as my Christian beliefs go, and how we're to live our lives, we're to live it in love for others, as Christ loved us. That's loving ourselves, loving others as we love ourselves, loving enemies, and of course, loving God. That doesn't mean agreeing and taking the other side, but nowhere in it is hate, mistreat, etc. Work force, real estate/rental... Those who desire same-sex are humans just like those who don't seek the same sex.

Now, no jumpin' here, 'cause this is just a personal thing, but I left out military for a light reason (because I don't feel there should be any kind of romantic or sexual thoughts and such in the military; it's a service of protecting the nation, and not a... social gathering kind of group), and I left out marraige because I firmly believe marraige to be of heart, mind, and body of a man and a woman, as Scripture states. Again, please, no dog-piling here. My opinion, not directed to attack anyone. *nod*

Agreed, here. Different cultures, religions, etc all have their own opinion of what is right and wrong, and it's important for people to respect that.

But not at the cost of other people's rights, I think. That's where I draw the line. :3
:iconskepsisfox:
Again I agree. Everyone deserves their rights, and each culture, race, subculture, sexuality, and whatever other groups or classifications there are within humanity has its bad spots, but also good spots which rarely get the attention. It's sad that today most people only see the bad in everything because that's what the press tends to push on us. :(

My family is Catholic and wonderful and full of supportive and loving people, and I'm lucky to have them. I have absolutely nothing against any religion or any personal views someone may hold. We all have different values and were raised thinking different things.

I have many friends on each side of this argument, and I understand where both sides are coming from, but I feel inclined to show my support for the side that is oppressed not only by people with disagreeing views, but by the government in such ways that basic rights are denied them.

It is great, however, to have the opinion of someone who obviously has a conflicting view but is articulate about it here. It's important for people to see and understand both sides before making their judgments, so thank you for sharing yours. :)
